This is often attributed to Mother Teresa of Calcutta as a copy on her wall, but it was written by Kent M. Keith when he was 19 and was first published by the Harvard Student Agencies in 1986. [/center[/color]]
# People are often unreasonable, illogical and self-centered.
(Forgive them anyway)
# If you are kind, people may accuse you of being selfish, ulterior motives.
(Be kind anyway)
# If you are successful, you will win some false friends and some true enemies.
( Succeed anyway).
# If you are honest and frank, people may cheat you.
(Be honest and frank anyway).
# What you spend years building, someone may destroy overnight.
(Build anyway)
# If you find serenity and happiness, others may be jealous.
(Be happy any way)
# The good you do today, people will forget tomorrow.
(Do good anyway)
# Give the world the best you have and it may never be enough.
(Give the world the best you've got anyway)
# You see in the final, it is all between you and God.
(It is never between you and them)
Best regards

A Christmas Story
A Christmas Story
According to an old and well-known legend, a
week before Christmas, Archangel Michael asked
his angels to visit the earth. He wanted to
know if everything was ready for the
celebration of the birth of Jesus Christ. He
sent them in pairs, always an older angel
accompanying a younger one, so that they could
have a broader picture of what happened in
Christianity.
One of these pairs was assigned to Brazil,
where they arrived late one night. Since they
had nowhere to sleep, they took shelter in one
of the great mansions that can be seen in
certain parts of Rio de Janeiro.
The owner, a nobleman on the verge of
bankruptcy (which, incidentally, happens to
many people in that city), was a fervent
Catholic, and soon recognized the heavenly
pair by the golden halos on their head.
However, he was too busy preparing a big
Christmas, and so as not to disturb the
completed decorations, he requested that his
heavenly guests to sleep in the basement.
Although Greetings cards are always
illustrated with snow falling, Christmas falls
in the middle of summer in Brazil, the sun was
scorching hot and the air, full of moisture,
it was almost suffocating. The angels laid
down on a hard floor, but before starting
their prayers, the older angel noticed a crack
in the wall. He got up, repaired it using his
divine powers, and returned to his evening
prayers. The two felt as though they had spent
the night in hell, it was so hot.
They slept very poorly, but they needed to
fulfill the mission entrusted to them by God.
The next day, they went through the big city,
with its 12 million inhabitants, its beaches
and mountains, its contrasts, its beautiful
landscapes and its horrible places. They
completed their reports, and when night fell
back they began to travel into the country.
But, distracted by the difference in hours,
they again found themselves with no place to
sleep.
They knocked on the door of a humble home,
where a couple came to meet them. Lacking
access to medieval engravings that portrayed
the messengers of God, the couple did not
recognize the two pilgrims, but told the
angels that if they were in need of shelter,
the house was theirs. They prepared a dinner,
presented their little newborn baby and
offered his room to the angels. They
apologized that they were poor and that while
the heat was great during the day, they had no
money to buy an air conditioner.
When the angels awoke the next day they found
the couple in tears. Their only possession, a
cow that gave milk for cheese, and support for
the family, was found dead in their field.
They quickly parted with the pilgrims,
embarrassed because they could not prepare a
breakfast.
While walking through the mud road, the
younger angel showed his anger, “I can not
understand this way of doing things! The first
man had everything he needed, and yet you
helped him by repairing his wall. Then with
this poor couple, who received us so well and
kindly, you did nothing to alleviate their
suffering!”
“Things are not what they seem,” said the
older angel, “when we were in that awful
basement, I noticed there was plenty of gold
hidden in the wall of the mansion, left there
by a previous owner. The crack was exposing
the treasure, and I decided to hide it again,
because the landlord did not help those in
need. Yesterday, while we slept in the bed the
poor couple offered, I noticed that a third
guest had arrived, the angel of death. He had
been sent to take the child, but since I've
known him for many years, I convinced him to
take the life of the cow in its place."
Remember the day that is about to be
celebrated; since people didn’t give much
value to appearance, no one wanted to take
Mary in. But the pastors welcomed her, and
because of that, they had the grace to be the
first to behold the smile of the Savior of the
World.

A remarkable woman with A remarkable Story
One of the most remarkable women in the American history was Harriet Tubman. She was born in a slavery on a Maryland plantation in the year 1820. When she was only seven years old, she tried to run away from the plantation, but she was captured and severely punished for trying to run away. In 1849, she escaped to Pennsylvania. Soon after her escape, she became a conductor on the Underground Railroad which was not a real railroad. It was informal network of people in the United States and Canada who believed that slavery was wrong. They helped runway slaves by giving them shelter on their journey out of the South. The members of the Underground Railroad helped hide the runway or fugitive slaves, and then they "conducted" them to the next safe home or "station". After her escape from Maryland, Harriet Tubman returned to the South nineteen times to help other slaves escape north. Between 1850 and 1860, she helped more than 300 slaves escape to freedom in the North, including her own parents. She conducted many of these slaves along the Underground Railroad all the way to Canada.
In 1861, the American Civil War between the North and the South broke out, and Harriet Tubman went to help the army of the North, or, as it was also called, the Union Army. She worked as a nurse and helped to take care of thousands of recently freed slaves. Harriet Tubman served as a nurse for the North, but she also served as a spy and a commando. Let me tell you what this fearless woman did. In 1863, she and a Union officer led a band of 150 black soldiers on a raid against the army of the South, or, as it was called, the Confederate Army. Tubman and the soldiers destroyed a lot of army supplies and then let nearly 800 slaves out of the area to freedom.
When the war ended in 1865, Harriet was 45 years old, but her life was only about half over at that time. Between 1856 and 1913, Harriet continued her efforts to help others, particularly the poor, the sick and the homeless in the African-American community. She lived until 1913. When she died, she was 93 years old.
Harriet Tubman did not have any easy life, but she had a very remarkable life. She was small woman in stature, but she was a giant in the story of the fight against slavery in the United States and, indeed , in the world.

Don't compare your life to others. You have no idea what their journey is all about

Dear All,
There was a medical doctor who was invited to speak to a group of alcoholics. He wanted to make a demonstration that would convey his message that drinking was harmful and injurious to health. He filled one container with pure distilled water and another with pure alcohol. He put an earthworm into the container containing distilled water and the earth worm swam beautifully and came up to the top. He then put another earthworm into the container of pure alcohol, and it disintegrated right in front of the crowd. Everyone present was amazed. He then asked them what they thought was the message from the demonstration. One of them replied, “If you drink alcohol you won’t have worms in your stomach.”
